We went on our last evening in Saigon. We wanted something more western after a few days of great Vietnamese cuisine and the villa did not disappoint. We really enjoyed the decor-French villa in Asia! We ordered the two set menus - recommend you do that as opposed to a la carte as pricing works out the same and you get a nice sequence of food. You will over indulge but no choice really. You don't eat a nice French full course meal every day! The duck was awesome. Flavor was rich and deep with out being gamey. The steak was perfectly prepared. I think you can't go wrong here. The wine and the food was well priced and overall a great value. The staff deserve great kudos as well. Faith in TripAdvisor reinstated after a most recent misstep in advice in Saigon. Whole heartedly recommend!!
The decor is very classic, it's a real Villa.
Ideal restaurant for good gastronomic French cuisine. Good service, delicious food, cheese trolley, home-made desserts. Wines who pairing with food. Several menus.
Best classic french restaurant in HCMC?
I enjoyed it.
After reading about La Villa for ages, we decided to celebrate a birthday dinner there. The place definitely lived up to its reputation! The lobster bisque was delicious -- very generous with the lobster meat. The scallop entree was also excellent, and very creatively presented. There were a couple of amuse bouche, as well as an included petit four dessert tray. Needless to say, we left completely full!
The service was attentive and friendly, and the space is wonderful. It's always nice when the chef comes out at the end of the meal to greet you and see how the meal was. Will definitely be back!
Been here twice in the past 12 months and visited many other restaurants in the city and Vietnam, including restaurants which are so called inspired/run by foreign Michelin starred chefs. Nowhere have I had better prepared food than in La Villa.
Good choice of set menus as well as a la carte dining. We had the discovery menu last night. The foie gras was cooked to perfection, the lobster with orange was divine and the lomo of pork was done exactly as it should be: still pink at the center and it tasted great. Classic French cooking at its best. The chocolate sphere dessert was very creative, though the hot chocolate sauce on top of it was probably a touch too far. Nice wine list and great wine pairing options with each set menu.
The decor is classic without being boring and this restaurant is one of the few places in the city that has a staff that knows exactly what they are doing. You can easily put this team in any restaurant around the world. Fantastic service. Definitely coming back here.
